PRE-ORDER ALERT!
Verse - Bitter Clarity, Uncommon Grace
Verse is a hardcore band from Providence, Rhode Island. Over the years the band has etched their name in hardcore music history with albums such as Rebuild, From Anger and Rage, and Aggression. Long story short, if you have heard this band, you have felt something from the experience. In 2009, Verse announced that they were calling it quits. Fast forward to today, and they’ve recorded a new album which promises to be nothing short of epic. For many, this isn’t so much a rebuilding of the group, but picking up right where they left off. Unfazed and untouched by the passing years. Their newest song, The Selfless of The Earth is a beautifully dissonant, just short of four minute anthem. You can listen to the stream here. Sean Murphy, vocalist for Verse said in an interview with absolutepunk.net, “This is just a small part of the story line. There’s a bigger picture to the record for sure. With Bitter Clarity, Uncommon Grace, we want people to take whatever they want from the meaning of our songs. If they can fit into your life, and you can relate to it, that’s wonderful. If you want to twist it into something negative, that’s your choice, but we probably wouldn’t get along.”
The pre-order is up now courtesy of Bridge 9 Records. The 12” LP first pressing is available in Clear With Red Smoke and White vinyl. The album will be released July 17, 2012.

I use the kitchen lights and the natural light that comes in from the kitchen door’s window. While standing on the previously mentioned cooler (very fancy) i position myself to the left of the record as far as i can get while still keeping it in the shot. This lets the shadow hit the table just outside of the shot.

It’s actually pretty ridiculous. I set the record on the kitchen table, stand on a plastic cooler, and shoot straight down trying not to fall off and kill myself. The camera is a canon t2i.
